2 West Virginia dental practice employees indicted for COVID-19 unemployment fraud

In March 2020, the practice temporarily closed due to COVID-19, but reopened in May. When the practice reopened, employees Amanda Kincell and Casey Fike continued to request and collect unemployment benefits, according to a March 7 news release from the state attorney’s office.

Ms. Kincell accepted 40 payments totaling $18,350, and Ms. Fike accepted 20 payments totaling $10,388, the release said.

Both employees are facing multiple counts of wire fraud, each of which has a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.
