4D smile design case using exocad’s Smile Creator module and dynamic jaw motion

The Smile Creator module is exocad’s advanced smile design solution for predictable aesthetic makeovers. Integrated into exocad’s DentalCAD platform, it enables dental laboratories to assess prosthetic feasibility even during aesthetic planning, thanks to its combination of 2D and 3D technology.

This article illustrates a comprehensive digital smile design workflow using the Smile Creator module. The workflow integrates a 3D facial scan, an intra-oral scan and dynamic jaw motion analysis to produce a customised, dynamic 4D wax-up. Using real patient data, it highlights how exocad technology aligns aesthetics with function.

Conclusion

This article has demonstrated the use of 3D facial scans, the Smile Creator module and dynamic jaw motion simulation in exocad’s DentalCAD software to create a functional, aesthetic wax-up for an actual case. The workflow supports predictable planning and clear patient communication, bringing prosthetic planning closer to facial reality.
