Advancing Oral Health: Dr. Angela Schmidt Marks One-Year Anniversary at Stanbrick Dental Specialists

Stanbrick Dental Specialists is proud to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Dr. Angela Schmidt (DDS, MS, FACP) joining the practice.

A board-certified restorative dentist, Dr. Schmidt is renowned for her precise diagnosis and patient-centered care, helping patients with complex dental needs regain oral function and confidence.

Fewer than one-third of restorative dentists achieve board certification, which requires passing four comprehensive exams, including a detailed case review and an oral defense before an examiner, demonstrating her education, experience, and expertise.

In her first year at Stanbrick, Dr. Schmidt has already significantly improved the lives of patients struggling with long-standing dental issues or whose oral health has been impacted by trauma, addiction, and the side effects of cancer treatment.

With expertise spanning restorative, cosmetic, removable, and implant dentistry, she has handled a range of complex cases, including full-mouth reconstructions for severely worn or damaged teeth, implant placements from single teeth to full arches, corrections of failed surgeries, and high-level aesthetic dentistry.

Benefits of Board Certification

“Patients can expect a high level of expertise and precision in comprehensive and aesthetic treatments,” says Dr. Schmidt. “Board certification reflects our highest standards of clinical knowledge, professional ethics, and long-term patient outcomes.”

She completed her residency in restorative medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago and considers board certification a significant milestone in her career, a symbol of dedication and hard work, and a testament to her exceptional care.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

Dr. Schmidt integrates her practice’s multidisciplinary team to provide seamless, comprehensive patient care. “Our specialist team members work in the same office, held to the same high standards, which facilitates communication and collaboration throughout patient care,” she notes.

This approach ensures that patients receiving multidisciplinary treatment plans, including orthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery, receive coordinated treatment plans.

The Growth of Women in Dentistry

Since 1995, the proportion of women restorative dentists has increased from 8.5% to 33%. Dr. Schmidt explained why she chose restorative dentistry: “Dentistry is my passion.

Several members of my family have worked in the dental field. After attending a conference on full-mouth restorations with dental implants, I realized my area of expertise and wanted to take on the challenge of restorative work to help patients regain their confidence and smile.”

Advanced Technology Combined with Expertise

Dr. Schmidt utilizes digital imaging and advanced technology to provide precise diagnoses. By developing comprehensive treatment plans, she ensures accurate and long-term results, improving patients’ oral health and quality of life.
