Recent statistics reveal a troubling dental health issue, with one in five children under the age of six experiencing tooth decay. This concerning data was disclosed by the Valelevu Dental Centre during the National Tooth Brushing Day, an event organized by Colgate-Palmolive at Rishikul Primary School.

A dental professional at the event expressed satisfaction in advocating for proper dental hygiene, highlighting the widespread issue of tooth decay among young children. The professional emphasized that Colgate’s initiative aims to raise awareness and encourage daily brushing habits, particularly focusing on schoolchildren practicing oral care after lunch.

Dr. Atonio Lalabalavu, Minister for Health and Medical Services, voiced his support for ongoing campaigns to enhance oral health awareness. His remarks came during his participation in the National Tooth Brushing Day celebrations at Rishikul Primary School.

Adrian Romanin, Country Manager for Colgate-Palmolive, underscored the importance of prioritizing children’s dental health. Romanin announced that Colgate has distributed 175,877 dental care kits to schools nationwide, ensuring that children have the tools necessary to maintain oral hygiene and establish a routine of brushing after meals.
