Amarillo Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics will hold its 18th annual candy buyback event on Friday, inviting families to exchange leftover Halloween candy for cash while supporting U.S. troops overseas.
Participants can receive $2 per pound of candy, up to three pounds per person. The donated candy will be shipped to service members stationed abroad.
The event will also offer free face painting, food trucks, and child ID cards provided by Amarillo Crime Stoppers.
Emergency response vehicles will be displayed by The 100 Club of the Texas Panhandle, giving children the chance to learn about local first responders.
The buyback will take place Nov. 7 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at APDO Town Square, located at 8900 East Village Square in Amarillo.
