ATSU Launches Inclusive Dental Care Immersion Program for Patients with Special Needs

Some patients may experience anxiety or stress during dental care, so it’s crucial for dentists to address each patient’s unique needs.

The Arizona Still University (ATSU) School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa, Arizona, will launch its first-ever Inclusive Dentistry and Oral Health Immersion Program this fall.

Developed in collaboration with Delta Dental Arizona, the three-day intensive training will teach participants how to effectively care for patients with special medical needs, including those with disabilities and adults with medical conditions.

Dean Desmond Gallagher stated that the school is committed not only to developing future clinical dental professionals but also to promoting inclusive care. He emphasized that compassionate care should be the standard, not the exception, of healthcare.

The program is scheduled to take place from November 5th to 7th. Interested applicants should wait until next month for details on the application process and fees.
