BMF’s ultrathin veneer material gets FDA nod

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given 510(k) clearance to Boston Micro Fabrication’s (BMF) UltraThineer material, which is used to create a very thin dental veneer. The new 3D-printed veneers use projection micro stereolithography (PµSL), a technology designed to create greater resolution, accuracy, and precision. The custom-manufactured zirconia veneers are three times thinner than traditional veneers and require little to no tooth preparation or grinding, according to BMF.
