Henry Schein to distribute AcceleDent Optima

OrthoAccel Technologies has signed a distribution agreement for its AcceleDent Optima orthodontic device in the U.S. with Henry Schein Orthodontics. The product uses gentle pulses to speed up bone remodeling in patients undergoing orthodontic treatment with clear aligners or braces. It incorporates Bluetooth technology and a cloud-based practice management system that allows practitioners to connect with patients. OrthoAccel will maintain its direct sales force, the company noted.

New teledentistry association launches

A new association has launched that focuses on using teledentistry to increase access to care. The goal of the American Teledentistry Association (ATDA) is to educate dental professionals and the public about the benefits of teledentistry. Marc Ackerman, DMD, MBA, is executive director of the association.
