Medical device company OrthoAccel Technologies has announced that its AcceleDent Optima technology has been cleared by Health Canada. The Optima device is an accelerated orthodontic device that uses Bluetooth connectivity to connect with smartphones and tablets. New 2017 budget bill increases NIH, CDC funding

A new U.S. government budget bill proposes increased funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Henry Schein has completes its acquisition of Southern Anesthesia + Surgical, which distributes anesthesia and surgical supplies. The acquisition was first announced in February, and financial terms of the transaction were not released.
