Endodontic technology developer Sonendo has acquired medical and dental laser therapies company PIPStek. PIPStek manufactures the PIPS (photon induced photoacoustic streaming) laser technologies. Sonendo announced that the newly acquired company’s technology will not be used in the endodontic market, instead it will allow expansion into other areas of dentistry. Carestream Dental announced that its CS 3600 intraoral scanner has been approved for use with 3M’s Incognito appliance system for orthodontic treatment. Carestream worked with 3M in a formal process to make sure the datasets from the scanner allow the creation of custom brackets for patients.
