This CE webinar is designed to provide an understanding of the rationale for the use of mouth rinses and their effect on oral biofilms teeth, oral soft tissues and implants. Mouth rinses can be used to not only reduce plaque biofilm in the mouth but also as a pre-procedural rinse to reduce the bacterial content of dental aerosols generated during therapy as well as to reduce the number of bacteria associated with bacteremia. Also, the benefits of a non-alcohol containing chlorhexidine rinse will be discussed as well as the anti-inflammatory effects of a novel alcohol free rinse for oral lesions.
Upon completion of this CE webinar, the student will
• Understand the rationale for the use of mouthrinses to improve oral health
• Learn the principles of biofilm formation
• Learn the oral health benefits of a non-alcohol containing Chlorhexidine mouthrinse
• Learn the benefits of a non-alcohol containing anti-inflammatory rinse
