Delta Dental of Tennessee is celebrating 60 years by launching a year-long campaign called “60 Moments of Surprise Smiles”. This initiative will feature 60 community-focused activities across the state, ranging from small acts of kindness to giveaways and community celebrations.
“Reaching our 60th anniversary is a milestone for Delta Dental, and we want to celebrate by spreading joy across the state,” said Jeff Ballard, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Tennessee. “These moments are about reminding our communities that a healthy smile goes hand in hand with kindness, connection, and joy.”
The initiative began on 20 Sep 2025, the company’s official 60th anniversary, with Delta Dental employees volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. As part of the kick-off, the non-profit’s long-time volunteer coordinators received gifts in recognition of their service. Soon after, winners of the Delta Dental & Friends Dinner and Golf Tournament, which benefits St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, were surprised with a $6,060 donation in their names to St Jude.
Other planned activities include installing a “kangaroo chair”, designed to support and improve the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) experience for parents and babies, at Regional One Health in Memphis. Delta Dental has also purchased books to restock a Book’em book bus for children.
“For 60 years, Delta Dental has been committed not just to oral health, but also to the well-being of the people and communities we serve,” said Missy Acosta, senior vice-president of brand experience at Delta Dental of Tennessee. “This campaign allows us to thank Tennesseans for the last 60 years of trust, while celebrating the everyday moments that make life brighter.”
