Dental City, a leading U.S. dental product distributor, was awarded the “Best Robotics Application” award at the U.S. Supply Chain Excellence Awards ceremony in Miami.
The award, presented at the IntralogisteX conference, recognizes Dental City’s innovative collaboration with Locus Robotics to automate warehouse operations.
By deploying Locus Robotics autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and integrating them with the Infios warehouse management system, Dental City has doubled its delivery efficiency while improving employee safety and satisfaction.
Previously, employees were only picking 250-300 items per day; now, productivity has increased two-to-three times to 750-800 items per day.
This transformation enables the company to fulfill all orders by 4 p.m. the same day, guarantee nationwide two-day delivery, and achieve a return on investment within 12 months.
Dental City President John Mathys said, “Robotics enables smarter, faster growth without having to scale your business.
This award reflects our team’s vision, willingness to embrace new technologies, and our strong partnership with Locus Robotics.”
Locus Robotics CEO Rick Faulk added, “Dental City demonstrates how AI-driven robotics can transform the way mid-sized distributors operate, empowering employees and improving customer satisfaction.”
The project also improved workplace safety and morale, replacing manual handling of 200-pound carts with collaborative robots, reducing fatigue and creating opportunities for new skills.
This award recognizes Dental City’s position as an innovator in the medical supply distribution sector and highlights the transformative potential of collaborative robotics technology in the modern supply chain.
