Dental Intelligence, a provider of practice performance solutions for the dental industry, has announced the appointment of Scott Johnson as chief executive officer by its board of directors. Johnson brings more than a decade of experience scaling vertical and infrastructure software businesses and is well placed to strengthen Dental Intelligence’s customer-focused approach and its leading position within the industry. He succeeds Dan Geraty, who will transition into the role of executive chairman and continue to provide strategic guidance and support to the executive team.
“I’m excited to step into this role and build on Dental Intelligence’s momentum,” said Johnson. “This is an opportunity to deliver greater value to dental practices that face rising expectations for efficiency, patient engagement, and intelligent workflow automation. I look forward to working with the team to develop innovative solutions that help our customers grow their practices.”
Throughout his career, Johnson has led multiple software businesses through periods of transformational growth. Most recently, he served as chief executive officer of PrimePay, where he guided the company’s evolution into a modern SMB HCM platform and supported its strategic merger with CoAdvantage. Prior to this, as chief executive officer of AbacusNext, a high-growth SaaS provider for the accounting and legal technology sectors, he oversaw a number of accretive acquisitions. Johnson has also held chief executive officer roles at Zephyr, a continuous testing software provider, and Social Solutions, which delivers software to non-profits, coalitions and government agencies. In addition, he has served on the boards of Edmunds GovTech, Planet DDS, iWave and ThreatConnect.
“Scott’s proven ability to scale software businesses makes him an ideal leader for Dental Intelligence’s next phase of growth,” said Geraty. “It has been a privilege to lead the company over the past four years, and I look forward to continuing to support its long-term vision in my new role as executive chairman.”
