As the number of skilled dental technicians declines, dental laboratories face growing pressure to meet the oral healthcare needs of an aging population.
To address this challenge, Dentsply Sirona and Rapid Shape have partnered to provide a streamlined solution that enhances productivity, profitability, and material consistency.
The collaboration makes the Lucitone Digital Print® Denture System—including its full range of materials and validated workflows with BAM!® smart polymer technology—accessible on Rapid Shape’s advanced 3D printing platforms.
Renowned for mechanical strength, tooth durability, and aesthetic versatility, Lucitone Digital Print supports both full-arch and partial dentures in 16 standard tooth shades plus two bleach options.
Rapid Shape’s D50+ and D90+ printers, equipped with the patented Automatic Separation Module, enable fully automated production of over 120 dentures without manual intervention.
This integration allows dental laboratories to produce premium and economy dentures efficiently, including Lucitone Digital Print, Digital Value, Digital IPN, Digital Fuse, and Digital Cure Units.
Rodrigo Canelhas, Group Vice President at Dentsply Sirona, emphasized the impact of the partnership: “By combining our advanced polymer materials with Rapid Shape’s robust 3D printing platforms, labs can now produce dentures that meet the highest clinical and aesthetic standards with greater ease.”
Andreas Schultheiss, CEO of Rapid Shape, added, “Certifying these premium materials for our printers empowers dental laboratories to deliver exceptional denture solutions confidently—whether in high-volume labs or through chairside production.”
This collaboration redefines denture manufacturing, helping dental laboratories meet rising demand with speed, precision, and quality.
