Dental Protection has partnered with Wild Monday to deliver a three-part webinar series aimed at helping dental professionals prevent burnout and build resilience, particularly when facing patient complaints.
Complaints can significantly add to the pressures experienced by healthcare professionals, with reported cases continuing to rise. In the past year alone, Dental Protection recorded a 26% increase in the number of complaints requiring member support across Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore.
To further support member wellbeing, the collaboration with Wild Monday will provide free, interactive webinars running throughout Feb and Mar 2026. The sessions will focus on practical strategies to maintain resilience and manage stress, covering the following topics:
• How to stop the slide into burnout — 11 Feb
• How to support your colleagues without burning out yourself — 4 Mar
• How to manage yourself and stay resilient during a complaint — 25 Mar
Dr Yvonne Shaw, underwriting policy lead at Dental Protection, said burnout can have a profound impact on both personal wellbeing and professional performance.
“We see first-hand how burnout affects colleagues’ personal and working lives, which can ultimately influence patient care,” she said. “Without early intervention, these challenges may lead to disengagement, time away from work, or even leaving the profession altogether.”
Dr Shaw added that receiving a patient complaint can be particularly distressing. “Complaints often trigger stress, anxiety and self-doubt, and can affect a professional’s ability to respond constructively.”
She continued: “We are proud to partner with Wild Monday on this webinar series, which is designed to help members develop strategies to prevent burnout, support their teams and remain resilient during periods of crisis or uncertainty.”
Dental Protection members experiencing mental wellbeing concerns are also encouraged to use the organisation’s confidential counselling service, which is included as part of membership. The service offers 24-hour telephone support, seven days a week, as well as access to face-to-face counselling sessions.
Members can register for the webinar series via the Dental Protection Learning Hub.
