Dental technician pleads guilty to theft from VA dental clinic

Arthur Hanvey, 65, of Delanson, N.Y., admitted he stole the materials from the Albany Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center between October 2017 and May 2021 while employed as a dental technician. He then sold the materials to a third-party refinery for profit, obtaining $17,574 from the scheme, according to a June 6 news release from the Department of Justice.

Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 4. If convicted, Mr. Hanvey could face up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and up to three years of supervised release.
