Global implant specialist DIO Implant announced on Nov. 3 the global release of two new dental software products — ECO Planning and ECO CAD — completing a six-year in-house R&D program.
ECO Planning is surgical planning software that imports patient CT and intraoral scan data to simulate implant placement in 3D. The program features an intuitive user interface and dental AI (DAI) tools for automatic data matching and nerve-canal generation, streamlining complex workflows, shortening surgical time, and helping clinicians explain treatment visually to patients.
ECO CAD is a prosthetics-focused CAD platform that links directly with clinical data. Designed for real-time collaboration between clinicians and technicians, it uses precise design algorithms to improve prosthetic fit and aesthetics while reducing production errors.
DIO says the ECO series — whose name stands for “enhance clinical outcome” — aims to speed the dental industry’s digital transformation and reduce reliance on expensive imported software such as 3Shape and Exocad. The company argues the new platform will relieve the industry’s software cost burden by offering a domestic alternative to subscription-based foreign tools.
A DIO official described ECO Planning and ECO CAD as “collaboration platforms used by dentists, dental hygienists, and technicians,” and added that the software launch is expected to boost sales of related digital dentistry products, including implants, orthodontic solutions, and full-arch restorations.
To mark the global launch, DIO is offering one year of free use. Interested users can apply through the DIO website or via the QR code provided by the company.
