Dentatus´ Individually Adjusted Articulators – For Optimal Treatment Outcome And Excellent Patient Satisfaction

The diagnostic and treatment planning phase are important keys to success in restorative dentistry. An important tool for achieving a good treatment outcome is an articulator. The articulator’s primary function is to work as if it was a patient ‘in-absence’. It is an instrument required for the analysis of functional occlusion, in diagnostics and treatment planning and for all different types of dental prosthetics. It should also have high accuracy and correspondence to real anatomy.

The articulator is defined as “a mechanical instrument that represents the temporomandibular joints (TMJs) and jaws, to which maxillary and mandibular casts may be attached to simulate some or all mandibular movements” (Academy of Denture Prosthetics 1977).

Many mean value articulators are on the market. Their construction is based upon average measurements of the anatomy and biomechanics of the masticatory system, but average does not fit the individual. Since variations in size and appearance occur in all parts of the human body including the masticatory system, it is inconceivable that the mandibular movement could be standardised in a mean value articulator.

The individually adjustable Dentatus articulator fulfills the requirements of adequate imitation of the individual jaw movements and it can be used for the satisfactory solution of occlusal problems in both natural dentitions and artificial dentures. The Dentatus articulator will give an exceedingly accurate simulation of mandibular movements both because it is possible to orient the casts in correct relation to the center of movement and also because the Condylar Tracks can be adjusted both horizontally and laterally.

The semi-adjustable and fully adjustable Dentatus articulators have been made to fulfill the requirements necessary for efficient and accurate diagnostic and treatment planning.

The Dentatus articulators have been manufactured in Sweden since 1944 and are still well-known high-quality precision instruments across the world. Dentatus articulators have been preferred at many dental clinics, laboratories and dental schools since over 50 years.

Dentatus is proud to launch two upgraded articulators, ARH2 and ARL2 in a new modern design for easier usage and maintenance. The new Dentatus articulators are easy to comprehend and use and made of aluminium and high quality stainless steel, with anodized black surfaces and powder coated blue details, for sturdy and reliable use over long time.

The new upgraded models in the Dentatus articulator and face bow range keep the same high quality and precision as recognized by the profession since many years. Main improvements are found with scales and settings which have been made with improved visibility scales and more ergonomical knobs.

Both articulators have an adjustable Condylar Track Inclination -20° to +60°, full range Bennett shift 0° to 40 and an adjustable incisal table. The Condylar Track Assemblies are equipped with Special Auditory Pins for attachment of the Dentatus Ear Bow AEE.

The Dentatus articulator ARH2 is equipped with an adjustable immediate side shift of the upper member. The Dentatus articulator ARL2 is fully adjustable, it has an adjustable upper jaw member and can easily be calibrated by use of the Gauge Block. With the Gauge Block the articulator can be adjusted and will assure continued precision over time and correct basic settings when cooperating dentists and laboratories work with their individual ARL2 articulators.

The new Dentatus articulators ARH2 and ARL2 will be available on the market from September 2018.
