Dentists’ confidence in economic recovery of dentistry slightly down from April

The poll was taken as part of the ADA’s monthly “Economic Outlook and Emerging Issues in Dentistry” report for the week of May 15. The Health Policy Institute surveyed 1,000 dentists about their confidence in economic recovery over the next six months.

Dentists are slightly less confident in the recovery of their own dental practice and the dental care sector as a whole compared to the survey results from April.

Very confident: 24.5 percent

Somewhat confident: 37.8 percent

Neither confident nor skeptical: 20.4 percent 

Somewhat skeptical: 12.8 percent

Very skeptical: 4.5 percent

The dental care sector

Very confident: 13.2 percent

Somewhat confident: 41.3 percent

Neither confident nor skeptical: 21.1 percent 

Somewhat skeptical: 18.7 percent

Very skeptical: 5.7 percent

The U.S. economy 

Very confident: 4.2 percent

Somewhat confident: 20.1 percent 

Neither confident nor skeptical: 19.8 percent
