SureSmile was reportedly the first to combine the world’s first wire-bending system developed by OraMetrix with treatment planning software and a 2D/3D intra-oral camera. Another major step came in 2008, when SureSmile became the first system to integrate cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) data into its treatment planning software. This gave orthodontists the ability to plan treatments with a full view of a patient’s oral anatomy, considering both teeth alignment and the surrounding bone structure for a more comprehensive approach.

In 2018, SureSmile introduced SureSmile clear aligners — marking the expansion of its portfolio to meet the growing demand among patients for customisable clear aligner solutions.
In 2021, the launch of SureSmile VPro — a high-frequency vibration device — further enhanced the patient experience. When used with orthodontic treatment for 5mins a day, the device delivers gentle vibrations that may reduce discomfort* and improve aligner tracking. Most recently, in 2023, the introduction of SureSmile simulator*powered by DS Core, Dentsply Sirona’s cloud platform – allows patients to preview their future smiles during consultations, facilitating communication with their clinician and giving them greater confidence in their treatment decisions.*
