The AIS Centre is a newly conceptualised accreditation by Dontia Alliance, where a premier implant centre in each country is recognised for its commitment towards clinical excellence and patient-centric care.

“Today, we unveil a state-of-the-art facility that not only serves the needs of our patients and dentist partners but also fosters continuous learning for all practitioners. By offering comprehensive training and upskilling programmes, we ensure our practitioners remain at the forefront of dental excellence,” said Dr Ang Chee Wan, representative of T32 Implant Centre. “Coupled with our extensive range of implantology solutions, we are confident in meeting every individual’s needs with distinction.”

The launch was inaugurated by guest-of-honour, Mr Desmond Tan Kok Ming, Senior Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office, and Deputy Secretary-General, National Trades Union Congress (NTUC).

Singapore’s population is ageing rapidly and projected to reach ‘super-aged’ status by 2026. It is crucial to address edentulism, early and improve oral health and overall well-being in ageing Singaporeans. It is estimated that approximately 13% of Singaporeans who are 60 years old and above do not have teeth.1 Many are unaware of dental treatments available while others are reluctant to spend on quality dental implants due to steep costs involved.

In response, DA has launched the ‘8020 Movement’ in Singapore, an initiative to address edentulism in the ageing population. Inspired by a successful campaign in Japan, the movement seeks to enhance the quality of life for Singaporeans by promoting the importance of maintaining at least 20 functioning teeth by age 80. This core principle enables individuals to enjoy a diverse diet, achieve good nutrition, and live a healthy life.

“The global disease burden of edentulism is high, affecting 13.5% of our population. While only 9% of Singaporeans above 80 years old have 20 teeth, 13% of those above 60 years old do not have teeth – presenting an urgent need to address edentulism,” said Dr Wong Keng Mun, founder and CEO of Dontia Alliance.

As part of the movement, the Bedok, Clementi and Financial District T32 Dental clinic locations will provide denture cleaning services for all denture wearing individuals. Additionally, any dentures produced by Dontia Digital Innovations (DDi) Laboratory will come with a one-year warranty. Through this movement, DA strives to address issues related to edentulism and provide solutions to tackle this growing challenge.

The T32 Implant Centre in Singapore is DA’s second AIS Centre, following the first AIS Centre being launched in Penang, Malaysia. By 2026, DA will have five AIS Centres, strategically located in major cities in Asia – Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong (SAR), Vietnam and the Philippines.

DA’s partnership with T32 plays a vital role in driving the 8020 Movement and mission against edentulism. By bringing together like-minded partners, exploring advanced dental treatments, as well as fostering a culture of continuous learning, the AIS Centre recognition sets a gold standard in integrated patient care focused on delivering quality outcomes and excellence.

Dental excellence under one roof

The centre is a comprehensive, multifaceted hub designed to provide specialised services relating to dental implants and dentures, as well as fostering learning, collaboration and innovation among dental professionals, partners, manufacturers and other dental-related businesses under one roof.

It places a heightened emphasis on harnessing cutting-edge implant surgery techniques and state-of the-art manufacturing technologies to drive superior outcomes in the field of dental implantology. It is through the trusted brands of Dontia Alliance and T32 that patients are assured that their implant treatment and maintenance are carried out with the highest standard of care.

In addition to high-quality implant solutions provided at the centre, education and training programmes for dental professionals will also be organised. This ensures that practitioners are kept up to date on the newest technologies and latest advancements, thus allowing us to remain at the forefront of dental excellence, enhance efficiency and productivity, as well as improving patient care.

“Our commitment is to set the gold standard in implantology services, providing top-quality treatments and advanced solutions while supporting our patients at every step of their implant journey. Our focus is on delivering patient-centric care that is accessible, affordable, and more importantly with assurance,” said Dr Ang.

Supporting the dental ecosystem in Singapore, DA and T32 are aligned to the nation’s healthcare agenda as well as the Government’s implementation of the Age Well SG programme. DA aims to create a lasting and positive impact in the communities and on the Singapore healthcare ecosystem to ensure a healthier society for all.

“We are deeply heartened by the support we have received from our partners and hope that this initiative will ignite more stakeholders to collaborate with us. Tackling edentulism is a collective effort and we believe that public-private partnerships play a pivotal role in the success of our 8020 Movement,” said Dr Wong.

He added: “Through AIS, we aim to create a more equitable dental ecosystem for all stakeholders within our network. By leveraging scale and synergy, we can elevate the standards of dentistry in our community, ensuring that high-quality dental solutions are both accessible and affordable.”
