Dr. Camelia Furlan, founder and chief dentist at Dentique Dental Spa, is advocating for and promoting National Oral Health Week 2025 through the leading dental platform Smile Docs®. This annual event, initiated by the Australian Dental Association (ADA), will be held from August 4 to 10, 2025, and is dedicated to raising public awareness of oral health.
This year’s theme, “Touching Every S Milestone,” focuses on the dental development of children throughout their developmental stages. Dr. Furlan stated, “Good oral health begins in infancy, and each stage of development has its own critical care milestones. Through this event, we hope to raise awareness among families about the importance of early childhood dental care.”
To support this theme, Dr. Furlan and her team will offer free pediatric dental consultations to the community during Oral Health Week. Dentique Dental Spa has long been committed to providing a warm and friendly environment, utilizing cutting-edge technology to deliver high-quality, painless dental experiences for children.
Dr. Furlan emphasized that regular dental checkups not only help prevent common problems like tooth decay but also impact children’s language development, nutritional intake, and overall health. She encourages parents to establish regular dental visits from the moment their child’s first baby tooth erupts, and to help them develop good brushing and dietary habits.
Oral Health Week promotes four key points for daily family care:
Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste
Floss or clean between teeth with an interdental brush
Maintain a balanced, low-sugar diet
Get regular dental checkups
Through the Smile Docs® platform, Dr. Furlan will provide parents with easy access to appointments and more information on children’s oral health, preventative measures, and the Medicare Children’s Dental Benefit. This benefit provides essential dental services for eligible children aged 0 to 17 years.
As a trusted dentist in Western Australia, Dr. Camelia Furlan is committed to raising public awareness of children’s oral health and uses this opportunity to encourage more families to prioritize good oral care habits from a young age to lay a foundation for lifelong health.
