Here’s what you should know.
1. The Tulsa, Okla.-based dentist completed the World Marathon Challenge saying it was “probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, mentally, emotionally, physically … and financially, too. In hindsight, it’s surreal. And it was an incredible experience. I just want to thank Jesus for allowing me to do it.”
2. Dr. Patel earned his dental degree from the Norman-based University of Oklahoma, and has been in practice for the last 26 years.
3. He started running when he was 44-years-old, completing the World Marathon Challenge six years later.
4. In the six years since starting running, Dr. Patel has completed 92 marathons.
