SurgiMac is a one-stop shop for top-tier, high-precision dental products at unmatched value
Dr. Sital Patel didn’t realize just how inefficient the instruments she’d been using were until she tried a few from SurgiMac. A general dentist at LIV Dentistry in The Colony, TX, she appreciates the durability and ergonomics of the instruments—ranging from explorers to forceps—but is most impressed by the Air Series Luxating Elevator. The elevator is easy to grip and features a serrated tip that she described as “nice and sharp.”
“I’d actually never used an elevator with a serrated tip before,” she said. “It performed much better than what I was using before and felt more efficient in severing the PDL.”
SurgiMac is a national distributor and manufacturer offering a large selection of dental products including sutures, instruments, blades, and examination grade PPE. Dr. Larry Brent, who practices at Brent Dental Arts in Cranbury, NJ, has found the low-cost, well-constructed instruments are of high quality.
“The company delivers quality dental instruments toward the top end of the scale of what I have experienced in my career,” Dr. Brent said. “As a dentist who’s been practicing for 35 years, I’ve seen a lot of stuff come and go. There are a lot of companies out there and a lot of junk. SurgiMac seems to pretty clearly be among the higher end of companies.”
Instruments that Perform
SurgiMac instruments are designed to get the job done and improve efficiencies. Its Air Series Standard Pedo Extraction Forceps, for example, make it easier for Dr. Patel to access smaller root tips and engage difficult to reach areas.
Dr. Brent likes that SurgiMac’s instruments are stainless steel and well balanced. The Pro Series College Cotton Pliers quickly became his favorite.
“We use a lot of sectional matrices in our restorative work, and I find with the standard college pliers in my setup, I’m fighting to retrieve them,” he said. “These pliers provided positive and definitive engagement no matter how tight the contact was. I could retrieve the matrices without any problems.”
More Comfortable Gloves
Although in the past he would opt for latex gloves, Dr. Brent and his team (who prefer nitrile) lauded SurgiMac’s MacSoft nitrile gloves, which offer exceptional durability and a comfortable fit.
“They are easier to get on and just have a more comfortable feel,” Dr. Brent said. “Tactile sensitivity is better, and my confidence in maintaining instrument control was higher than with any other version of nitrile gloves I’ve used.”
High Quality at the Right Price
SurgiMac offers well-constructed instruments and comfortable PPE that rival the leading brands.
“For being well-made, stainless-steel instruments, they are well worth their price point and are more cost effective than other brands,” Dr. Patel said.
