Effective, Chemical-Free Vacuum Line Cleaning

The time-release formulation of Vacuum Shock and Vacuum Clean ensures lines are protected and functioning at peak efficiency around the clock

Many products used to clean dental vacuum lines contain bleach, chlorine, iodine, or other chemicals. Palmero’s Vacuum Shock and Vacuum Clean doesn’t, and that’s what Dr. Amanda Seay loves most about the 2-step system.

As practices move toward wellness-based models, reducing the amount of chemicals in products has become paramount. These vacuum line cleaners have a neutral pH of 7 that follows the EPA’s guidelines for waterline management, making them a better choice for Dr. Seay and her patients at Expertise Dental in Charleston, SC.

“People are more aware now of everything in our environment—from what we put on our skin to what we breathe,” Dr. Seay said. “There are so many chemicals in a dental office as it is, so having a vacuum line cleaner system that’s environmentally friendly with a neutral pH is super important to me.”

Effortless Line Cleaning

Vacuum Shock and Vacuum Clean are easy to use, Dr. Seay said. She likes that the cleaners come in tablet form rather than large jugs of liquid. Placing the tablets is part of the team’s weekly and monthly checklist, and it only takes them a few minutes to ensure the lines are thoroughly cleaned and working properly. The system is also compatible with amalgam separator systems.

The first stage in the 2-Step Evacuation System Maintenance Kit is the monthly tablet, Vacuum Shock, which removes accumulations to restore vacuum pressure and extend pump life. Vacuum Clean, the weekly tablet and second stage, continuously cleans lines to keep them working at the highest level.

“The delivery is really simple and easy for the team, and it keeps our high and low speeds clean and fresh,” Dr. Seay said. “And it doesn’t take up a lot of space. They’re just little tablets that dissolve.”

Tablets that Don’t Quit

Both tablets have a time release mechanism, ensuring the lines stay fresh until the next cleaning.

“It’s not just at optimal the first time you place the tablet, which is nice,” Dr. Seay said. “The tablets release over time, so if you’re cleaning weekly, you know if you do it on a Thursday, by the following Thursday it still has a release going. You’re not getting more contamination by the end of the week.”

Products You Can Rely On

Biofilm can build up over time in vacuum lines, making it critical to clean them regularly with products you know you can trust. Palmero’s Vacuum Shock and Vacuum Clean maintain fresh lines without the harsh chemicals often found in other products.

“The vacuum pressure needs to be optimal at all times. If it isn’t, you know the lines aren’t as clean as they should be,” Dr. Seay said. “So much biofilm and bacteria and other things go through the lines. Many cleaners use bleach or other chemicals to clean. These products have a neutral pH, which is more EPA friendly and just better overall.”
