Elite Dental Group receives AACI quality accreditation

Representatives from AACI Asia-Pacific presented the AACI quality certification to delegates from three clinics within the Elite Dental system

Elite Dental Group announced on 20 Oct that it has been accredited by the American Accreditation Commission International (AACI) with a score of 95.33 out of 100. The certification was granted under the latest AACI standard version 2.1, which is specifically designed for dental care facilities.

A ceremony marking the announcement was held at Le Méridien Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, attended by representatives from the health sector, dental professionals, AACI officials, and media and industry partners.

Accreditation milestone

Established in 2012, Elite Dental operates as a dental care provider offering a range of services based on international clinical protocols. After more than a decade of operation, the group’s accreditation by AACI represents a notable development for its clinical and service quality systems.

According to Elite Dental’s management, the accreditation provides an external evaluation of the organisation’s adherence to international standards and commitment to sustainable practice. Dr Do Quynh Nhu, chief executive officer of Elite Dental Group, described the accreditation as recognition of the team’s efforts over the past 13 years to align with globally recognised benchmarks.

At the event, Dr Le Trung Chanh, director of the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology Ho Chi Minh City and first vice-president of the Vietnam Odonto-Stomatology Association, noted the potential of international accreditation to support efforts to improve treatment quality and safety within Vietnam’s dental sector. He added that such initiatives may also contribute to the city’s Dental Tourism Development Programme.

All three Elite Dental branches in Ho Chi Minh City received accreditation simultaneously. AACI’s regional representative for the Asia-Pacific region, Naphatsin Sinthoon, commented that Elite Dental is the first dental system in Vietnam to achieve AACI accreditation.

Dr Do Quynh Nhu shared insights on the development journey and the significance of achieving AACI accreditation

AACI accreditation and standards

The AACI is a global organisation that evaluates and supports healthcare and clinical quality standards.

For dental institutions, AACI standard version 2.1 provides a framework covering areas such as quality management, clinical safety, patient protection, and infrastructure readiness. The standard comprises 52 criteria across 18 chapters, including:

• Eight chapters (20 standards) on quality management
• Nine chapters (25 standards) on clinical quality
• One chapter (seven standards) on infrastructure and facility standards

To achieve accreditation, dental facilities are required to demonstrate compliance with criteria, including:

• Infection prevention and control
• Emergency preparedness and response
• Diagnostic accuracy and radiation safety
• Secure and traceable patient data management

Industry observers note that meeting AACI’s standards indicates a level of clinical governance consistent with international best practices.

New brand positioning

During the ceremony, Elite Dental also introduced an updated brand positioning, presented as “A Premium International Dental System Meeting US Standards”. The organisation stated that this reflects its focus on precision, aesthetics, and long-term outcomes in specialised areas such as full-arch implants and orthodontics.

The clinic’s guiding principles were outlined as:

• Evidence-based dental practice
• Compliance with international standards for safety and sustainability
• A patient-focused approach to treatment
• A philosophy prioritising health and function alongside aesthetics

Elite Dental’s management indicated that the AACI accreditation would serve as a foundation for further improvements in clinical practice and service delivery. The group expressed an intention to continue aligning with international frameworks as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and transparency of dental care in Vietnam.
