Encore D/C

Dual-cure core buildup composite, available in MiniMix unit-dose cartridges, saves time for the clinician while eliminating cross-contamination and reducing waste,By simplifying and improving core buildups for clinicians, Encore D/C dual-cure core buildup composite encore d/c dual core buildup compositehas become a favorite of dentists nationwide. Whether building up the coronal core or fabricating a composite post-and-core that bonds the post, tooth, and core together for superior structural integrity, the Encore D/C material flows smoothly, fills the voids with enough volume, and results in less postoperative sensitivity among patients. ,Alan Krause, DMD, has been using Centrix core materials for 30 years, first with Encore and then with new-generation Encore D/C, at his practice in Montville, NJ. “This product allows you to simply put the cartridge in the C-R syringe and inject where you want it to go. It cuts nicely, too, with less slumping, so you don’t have to overbuild.” In fact, Encore D/C’s nonslumping formula eliminates the need to use a matrix/core-form.“The entire process goes quicker,” Dr. Krause said.,Encore D/C is available both in Automix and the popular MiniMix format that eliminates waste and cross-contamination issues. The single-dose MiniMix kit contains 36 cartridges, each with two mixing nozzles and a needle-tip—amounting to 72 core buildups per kit. The compact size and longer mixing tip enable easy application down canals in second and third molars.,“The delivery system is so easy, especially with the MiniMix format, which comes in unit-dose form so I use just what I need,” Dr. Krause said. “I also don’t have to do as much cutting and shaping. When I am deeper in the canal or at the bottom of a post space, a dual-cure adhesive like Connexio, also from Centrix, provides the same dual-cure security and allows my crowns to just drop in. I realize technique is also a factor, but I’m not dealing with an undercut or overcut when I use this material.,”Dr. Krause frequently uses Encore D/C for crown buildups on vital teeth, preferring to let it self-cure, although light activation for 20 seconds does accelerate the set. Encore D/C is also radiopaque, so it’s easy to see the core buildup material in x-rays.,Greg Sikora, DMD
