exocad will present the latest in dental CAD design at IDS 2025. Novica Savic, CCO and managing director at exocad, shares his thoughts on the trade show, and exocad’s focus for the event.
A glimpse of the future
From cutting-edge solutions and groundbreaking advancements to thrilling live demonstrations and insightful educational seminars, this year’s edition of IDS promises to deliver the very best that the dental industry has to offer to professionals from across the globe.
A particular highlight of the event is the ongoing surge of interest in digital dentistry, with new technologies and AI-driven functionalities emerging as both captivating and revolutionary for today’s dental practices and laboratories. As new players continue to enter this segment, professionals can look forward to a wide range of intraoral scanners and 3D printers, each offering varying levels of quality and pricing. For Savic, IDS represents a prime opportunity for brands to showcase their key technologies and demonstrate their performance to a discerning audience, spotlighting the latest innovations and future prospects for the dental sector.
“This is where the next innovations to arrive on the market are presented,” said Savic. “In addition, visionary outlooks on the future of dentistry are shown at IDS. All this makes this event the leading global trade fair for our industry.”
At my first IDS in 1992, I was still a dental technician trainee. The trade fair was huge and an absolute mega-flash for me. I was immediately in love with this trade fair. I haven’t missed an IDS since.

In line with this forward-thinking approach, exocad will present cutting-edge concepts that address the industry’s increasing demand for digital solutions. Focusing on interdisciplinary treatment methods, the company will unveil new strategies for minimally invasive dentistry.
“Together with several partner companies, we will present innovative concepts designed to inspire. All I can say is: come and see the future and experience the next level of CAD design. At IDS 2025, we will show our leading role in the dental CAD software segment,” said Savic.

At the exocad stand, visitors will have the chance to engage directly with the company’s software professionals, who will be available to offer guidance and gather valuable feedback. Attendees can explore the full range of Align Digital Platform solutions and experience the software firsthand at the interactive arCADe stations. They will also have the opportunity to design in DentalCAD, exoplan, and ChairsideCAD, gaining hands-on experience with these powerful tools. Additionally, exocad will unveil its new testimonial campaign at the show, spotlighting the experiences of its software users across both laboratory and dentistry sectors.
“We will present the latest release cycle under the name, ‘Chemnitz’. This release will have an important meaning. With exocad ART (Advanced Restorative Treatment), for example, we are showing how the segments of restorative dentistry and aligner therapy can be brought together through integration with the Invisalign system. For laboratories, this means a considerable expansion of indications,” said Savic.
“The second major topic will be new AI functionalities for DentalCAD, eg a new AI design for crowns. Labs can then use this function to better grow their capacity,” he added, referring to the forthcoming DentalCAD 3.2 Elefsina feature release. “On the technical side, we expect that the next DentalCAD release will be equipped with additional prerequisites for all future AI functionalities, referred to as AI services. The release is therefore very important for users to be able to use all future AI functions.”
exocad users, both new and established, can look forward to a host of exciting AI services alongside the Chemnitz release, including AI-generated single crowns. These AI functionalities will be seamlessly integrated into DentalCAD, enabling users to decide on a case-by-case basis whether to design the crown themselves or let the AI handle the design process. Furthermore, the introduction of the TruSmile video preview feature will allow patients to visualise how they will look while speaking and laughing with a completed aesthetic anterior design. According to Savic, this innovation is set to enhance patient communication significantly.
Overall, IDS 2025 promises to be an exciting and fruitful experience for both exocad and its visitors. With fresh releases, captivating updates, and innovative concepts on display, the company is once again positioning itself at the forefront of digital dentistry.
Savic concluded: “For IDS 2025, I am looking forward to welcoming many international visitors and, above all, to seeing long-time acquaintances from all over the world again. It is also always exciting when we present our new products to the public at IDS. We have worked towards this for many months and are always eager to receive feedback from partner companies and users.”
