Staffordshire residents will soon find it easier to access emergency NHS dental care, thanks to an expansion of local services.
The Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board (ICB) announced that over 16,000 additional appointments will be made available.
The service targets patients experiencing pain, infection, or other urgent dental issues.
Residents can call the advice line at 0300 123 0981, where they will be assessed and directed to the nearest suitable dental clinic.
Dr. Rachel Gallyot, ICB interim chief medical officer, said, “Too many people struggle to receive urgent dental care when they need it most.
By adding thousands of appointments each year, we can ensure patients in pain receive timely treatment close to home.”
She added, “This is a key step in our commitment to improving oral health and ensuring fair access to NHS services for all residents of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.”
