Part of Centrix’s Prevention for Life movement, FluoroDose is an easy-to-apply and pleasant-tasting fluoride varnish for patients of all ages

What’s high on the list of patient fears? No matter the age, when it comes to identifying key factors for patient anxiety during dental visits, a good part of the blame rests on the fear of hearing one’s doctor say, “You have a cavity.” In fact, it’s often the reason why patients put off regular checkups and dental exams, which can jeopardize their oral and overall health. Caries are equally problematic for clinicians, as untreated decay can lead to more serious and costly problems down the road. So, when a product exists that’s proven to be a safe component of caries prevention, it’s a given that it will occupy a sizeable space in many operatory supply cabinets.
Recommended for All Ages
“I recommend fluoride varnish for all ages of patients at my practice,” said Marianne Baran, DDS, who practices in Dearborn, MI. “I find FluoroDose to be especially good for patients under the age of 18. It’s also great for patients who have a high risk of caries, as well as those patients who may be experiencing generalized sensitivity.”
FluoroDose contains 5% sodium fluoride and is FDA-cleared for treating dentinal sensitivity. The fluoride varnish goes on smooth and is not clumpy or stringy, which can reduce the chance of clogging vacuum lines. It also dries clear, so there is no worry over tooth discoloration.
“The top 3 features we look for in a fluoride varnish are price, flavors, and ease of application,” Dr. Baran shared. “I’m always looking for varnish that isn’t too sticky and doesn’t leave a thick film on the teeth.”

Pleasant Tasting, Allergen-Free
FluoroDose is available in 5 patient-friendly flavors, including caramel, bubble gum, mint, cherry, and melon. In addition to being pleasant-tasting, it is also free of common allergens, including lactose, gluten, tree nuts and tree nut derivatives, dairy, egg, soy, peanut, fish/shellfish, and seed products.
Each FluoroDose unit contains 0.3-mL of product and a Benda Brush applicator packaged in a convenient single-dose LolliTray that’s hygienic, ergonomic, and reduces waste. Clinicians just need to peel back the cover and dip the Benda Brush into the mix.
The unique design of the Benda Brush allows for a convenient swipe-on procedure and efficient mixing, ensuring a consistent level of fluoride in every application. FluoroDose eliminates worries of fluoride ingestion, messy gels, and uncomfortable trays. Application is complete in less than a minute, and cleanup is fast and easy.
“FluoroDose was easy to open,” added Dr. Baran. “It’s amazing how hard some varnish packs can be to open.” The fluoride varnish dries in seconds after contact with saliva. FluoroDose also remains on teeth for 4 to 6 hours for optimum fluoride up-take. “The varnish was not too thick, and the taste was pleasant for our patients,” Dr. Baran added. “I really like FluoroDose!”
