Florida DSO trains dentists, staff to use 3D scanner tech

The training was two days long and taught team members how to use the scanner for restorative dentistry and edentulous patients, according to a May 3 news release.

“With a three-dimensional digital scan, we can see everything at a larger scale, analyze, modify and re-digitize quickly to ensure accuracy. We cannot do that with analog impressions,” said Howard Chasolen, DMD, Today’s Dental Network’s head of prosthodontics.

Seventeen participants completed the training and received 16 hours of continuing education credits and program certification.
