Pinellas Park, Florida—According to multiple news reports, a woman has been arrested for allegedly operating an illegal dental clinic.
Emily M. Martinez was arrested on August 20th and faces charges of fraud (under $20,000) and practicing medicine without a license.
She was also charged with unlawful possession of another person’s identification and was designated a habitual offender. Martinez was also arrested again for failing to appear in court and violating her probation.
Police said the investigation into Martinez began in June after several patients reported complications after treatments performed by her and said she refused to refund or repair allegedly shoddy dental work.
During a two-month investigation, authorities discovered that Martinez was advertising and operating as a licensed dentist offering dental veneers in a Pinellas Park shopping mall. However, Martinez was found to not hold a valid dental license.
