FluoroDose fluoride varnish with xylitol comes in a patented hygienic package with an ergonomic design and a smooth, easy peel

Charles Liu, DMD, who has a general practice in Mansfield, OH, learned about FluoroDose fluoride varnish from his hygienist after she attended a Give Kids a Smile Day with his wife, who’s a pediatric dentist. “That was about 5 or 10 years ago,” Dr. Liu explained. “My hygienist returned from the event, where my wife used FluoroDose, and told me how easy it was to use. And she was right.”
Dr. Liu also found that the results he achieves with the fluoride varnish from Centrix help him build a loyal following with his patients.
Packaged for Simplicity
FluoroDose comes in patented LolliTrays designed for safe and easy use. Simply peel back the top of the single-dose tray and mix with the provided Benda Brush applicator. The swipe-on procedure used with the Benda Brush makes application safer and simpler compared to gels and rinses.
“The packaging, which aids infection control, makes it very convenient to use,” said Dr. Liu. “No disinfection is required, and the single-dose LolliTrays help reduce waste.”

Formulated for Success
With 5% sodium fluoride, FluoroDose quickly dries as soon as it comes into contact with saliva. When working with children, this feature is particularly helpful in avoiding fluoride ingestion. To ensure the most fluoride uptake, the varnish stays on the tooth for 4 to 6 hours. In addition, in an effort to meet individual patient needs, Centrix formulated FluoroDose without lactose, gluten, nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, fish, or seeds.
Dr. Liu noted that the high concentration of fluoride aids desensitization. “It speaks for itself because of the desensitization,” he said. In fact, FluoroDose has been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration for dentinal sensitivity treatment.

Designed for Patient Acceptance
For patients with minor decalcification, Dr. Liu begins with a prescription fluoride toothpaste. For any patients who return without improvement, he and his hygiene team recommend FluoroDose. They explain the benefits of fluoride varnish treatment, both in terms of oral health and reduced treatment cost.
“Providing FluoroDose can help patients avoid a filling. Plus, I don’t feel right doing a filling on a shallow cavity.” Ultimately, Dr. Liu builds goodwill with his patients who know that he’s looking out for their best interests. Further, when he’s not spending time treating minor decalcification, he’s free to provide more in-depth treatment for other patients.
Grateful Patients
Dr. Liu recommends that his dentist colleagues consider adding FluoroDose to their armamentarium. FluoroDose is routinely applied on children—including babies from the time they have their first tooth—and also benefits adults if they show any of the following: frequent decay, gum recession, sensitive teeth, xerostomia, cariogenic bacteria, plaque buildup, or other conditions. It can be applied 4 times a year or every 3 months.
“Usage is easy and convenient, and there’s not much cleanup,” Dr. Liu explained. He also pointed out that FluoroDose can be provided during a cleaning appointment, which, he said, “ensures hygienists feel like they’re part of the treatment team and translates into patients being very grateful to the hygienist.”
