US Oral Surgery Management (USOSM) has congratulated its surgeon partner Chadwick J Marshall, DMD, MD, on his recent appointment by Governor Ron DeSantis to the Florida Board of Dentistry.
The Florida Board of Dentistry regulates dental and dental hygiene licensure and oversees the safe practice of dentistry across the state. It is responsible for enforcing legislation and setting professional standards to ensure practitioners meet licensing requirements and deliver safe patient care. The board comprises 11 members appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate.
“The Florida Board of Dentistry plays a vital role in protecting patient safety and promoting high standards of patient care, and I’m truly honoured to be a part of that,” said Dr Marshall.
Dr Marshall is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Gulf Coast Facial & Oral Surgery, a full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS) practice serving patients along Florida’s Emerald Coast. He sees patients at the Fort Walton Beach office and is actively involved both in his local community and within the OMS profession.
Raised in Fort Walton Beach, Dr Marshall graduated from Choctawhatchee High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University. He completed both his DDS and MD at the University of Florida, followed by a general surgery internship and OMS residency at UF Health Shands Hospital. He also undertook a fellowship in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Centre in Dallas.
Dr Marshall is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, the highest credential in the specialty according to the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a board member and former president of the Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Okaloosa-Walton Dental Study Club.
A sought-after speaker, Dr Marshall has presented nationally and internationally on topics including craniofacial reconstruction, facial cosmetic surgery, trauma and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery. His clinical interests include facial cosmetic surgery, dental implants and maxillofacial surgery and reconstruction.
“Appointment to a state board of dentistry is both an honour and a responsibility, and we are delighted to see Dr Marshall take on this role,” said USOSM’s chief executive officer, Doug Drew. “He is an outstanding oral and maxillofacial surgeon, a respected leader in his community and within the specialty, and deeply committed to clinical excellence and patient safety — key priorities of the board.”
Headquartered in Irving, Texas, USOSM is a management services organisation operating across 31 states. It supports a network of oral and maxillofacial surgeon partners by providing operational, financial and administrative services to drive clinical excellence, innovation and sustainable growth.
