SEOUL, South Korea: Digital dentistry pioneer Graphy has been officially listed on the KOSDAQ, South Korea’s electronic stock exchange. Known for independently developing advanced 3D-printing resin materials for dentistry and the world’s first directly 3D-printed shape memory aligner, the listing marks a pivotal milestone in the company’s expansion across the global digital orthodontics sector.
Significant investor interest was demonstrated during the company’s initial public offering (IPO), reflecting strong market confidence in Graphy’s proprietary technology and growth trajectory. Market analysts view the successful IPO as a direct acknowledgment of the company’s leadership in digital dental technology and its potential for global expansion.
Graphy CEO Un-seob Sim strikes a ceremonial drum in celebration of the company’s listing on South Korea’s KOSDAQ stock exchange.
Funds raised through the IPO will be strategically allocated to accelerate Graphy’s entry into international dental markets, advance its R&D in next-generation digital dental materials, and expand its manufacturing infrastructure. The company aims to strengthen its share of the international orthodontic market through clinical adoption and partnerships in Europe, the US and Asia.
In 2021, Graphy captured the attention of the orthodontics industry when it introduced its Shape Memory Aligner (SMA) at the International Dental Show in Cologne in Germany. Activated at human body temperature and engineered to deliver optimal orthodontic force, the device aims to provide more precise and predictable tooth movement compared with conventional thermoformed aligners.
Industry experts have commented that the company’s KOSDAQ listing represents more than just a financial milestone. By integrating digital treatment planning, patient-friendly appliances and fully 3D-printed manufacturing, Graphy appears set to enhance treatment efficiency and patient satisfaction.
CEO Un-seob Sim commented: “Our KOSDAQ listing is the starting point for Graphy’s mission to lead global innovation in digital dentistry. We are committed to becoming the world leader in both shape memory aligners and dental 3D-printing materials.”
Establishing a firm US market presence
In August, Graphy sponsored and participated in the EAS North America Aligner Forum—the first European Aligner Society academic gathering to be held in the US. The company hosted a workshop at the Seattle event, titled “Beyond thermoforming: The new era of shape memory aligners”. Featuring renowned orthodontist Dr Ravi Nanda and the company’s senior researcher Dr Hoon Kim, the workshop highlighted the SMA system’s biomechanical efficiency and clinical performance, as well as the material science behind the technology. Building on a strong clinical reception across Europe, the company aimed to strengthen its presence in the US market through this initiative.
