Yankee Dental Congress® 2019 (Yankee) will be held from 31st January – 2nd February 2019, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Yankee, which is New England’s largest dental meeting, is presented by the Massachusetts Dental Society, in cooperation with the dental societies of Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Nearly 27,000 dental health professionals and guests from around the United States are expected to attend this year’s event.
The theme of this year’s Yankee is Inspiring Innovation. This theme exemplifies how dental professionals can get inspired by industry-leading speakers and innovative continuing education (CE) opportunities for clinical development to energise their passions and fuel advances in the dental field.
Among the education highlights this year, The Morning Huddle at Yankee will feature a course on Science and Strategies for Managing Oral Systemic Inflammation. Inflammation doesn’t just wreak havoc on the oral cavity; it can be detrimental to overall health. 70% of all deaths in the United States are caused by chronic disease, with chronic inflammation playing a key role in many of these conditions. This course will detail strategies for maintaining optimum overall health and decreasing inflammation.
An interprofessional symposium Eating Disorders: Food for Thought will review the diagnosis and treatment process for eating disorders, including dental restorative treatment, and highlight the importance of a multidisciplinary team and communication among providers who treat patients with a history of bulimia.
Because managing human resources is an integral piece of a successful dental practice, a program on Human Resource Management Essentials will follow the entire life cycle of an employee—from hiring to managing—to outline the best practices every practice owner and manager needs to know.
Yankee also will feature a special track of courses for new dentists designed to help them learn from experienced practitioners and network with their peers.
The CE RECHARGED program offers continuing education like no other with an upscale premium format in the BCEC Ballroom. On Friday, 1st February, Henry Schein® Dental will immerse attendees in digital and esthetic dentistry, and Colgate® will explain how to achieve whole-mouth health for patients through coaching.
Along with more than 300 continuing education and hands-on courses and events presented by leading experts in the dental profession, Yankee is bringing together dental peers and industry experts for a day of sharing programs and clinical practices. The Yankee FAST TRACK: Synergistic Digital and Analogue Approaches to Aesthetic Implant Therapy program will explore why, when, and how to incorporate digital dentistry for efficient, productive, predictable, and optimal implant clinical outcomes.
Yankee also will feature a wide range of the latest dental technologies and products from more than 400 exhibitors, along with several education pavilions located on the Exhibit Hall Floor.
Special presentations this year include Joe Gatto, celebrity chef and host of the cutting-edge cooking show From Scratch, and best-selling author Julia Glass.
