Ivoclar has announced the 2026 Ivoclar Smile Award, a competition designed to highlight notable achievements in dental restoration and the professionals behind them. The award aims to acknowledge the skill, precision, and innovation involved in creating high-quality dental outcomes.
The Smile Award provides a platform for dental professionals to present their work, engage with international peers, and exchange knowledge on clinical techniques and materials. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their practice and showcase cases that demonstrate both technical expertise and patient-focused results.
Vincent Fehmer, a dental technician from Lausanne, Switzerland, commented: “Taking part is what really counts — submitting your work allows you to evaluate its quality, strengthen excellence in your daily practice, and further develop your skills.”
Award categories
The 2026 edition of the Ivoclar Smile Award focuses on the use of IPS e.max materials and includes two categories:
• Proven masters: Recognises established teams of dental technicians and dentists who have completed complex restorations demonstrating high aesthetic quality
• Rising stars: Highlights emerging dental technology professionals under the age of 30 who demonstrate precision and innovative craftsmanship in laboratory work
Entries are evaluated by an international panel of dental and dental technology experts. Assessment criteria include clinical complexity, aesthetic quality, material selection, and patient outcomes.
Focus on IPS e.max materials
The competition centres on IPS e.max, a range of dental materials used for over 20 years in minimally invasive restorations. The system is recognised for its combination of durability, aesthetics, and clinical reliability, with long-term studies reporting survival rates above 95% over periods of up to 17 years.
Participation details
Dental professionals of all experience levels are invited to submit their best IPS e.max cases to demonstrate craftsmanship and patient-focused outcomes. Registration closes on 30 Apr 2026.
