Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS) has been honored with the Charaka National Award for Best Dental College by the Indian Dental Association (IDA).
Dr. Jugajyoti Pathi, Director of KIDS, accepted the award, acknowledging the contributions of the institute’s faculty, students, and staff. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS, lauded KIDS’ achievements and thanked the team for their dedication.
The Charaka National Awards recognize excellence in dentistry, with winners selected through public votes and expert evaluation. KIDS secured over 4 lakh public votes and impressed the judging panel with its state-of-the-art infrastructure, including more than 300 dental chairs, AI-based diagnostics, and 3D printing laboratories.
The institute also highlighted its research and innovation, such as the Cleft Connect app for cleft lip and palate care, alongside its extensive community outreach programs improving oral health across Odisha.
The award ceremony saw the presence of international and national dignitaries, including Mr. Gustovo Gonzalez, Consul General of Chile; Mr. Alex Chain from the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA); and senior IDA officials, Dr. Subhra Nandy (President), Dr. Ashok Dhoble (Hon. Secretary General), and Dr. Manoj Srivastava (President-Elect).
