A milestone in implantology
At this year’s EAO in Monaco, W&H introduced the new generation of its surgical motor, Implantmed Plus II. The device features an innovative scan function and enhanced connectivity, reflecting the company’s direction for future development.
From 18 to 20 Sep, W&H presented the Implantmed Plus II live at the EAO in Monaco. Following the official keynote launch, visitors tested the device in a hands-on session. Early feedback was positive, with users highlighting the simplicity of the new functions and describing them as “practical” and “well-thought-out.”
“People are always at the centre for us,” said Andreas Brandstätter, product director oral surgery & implantology at W&H. “Our goal is to support clinicians with smart, carefully designed solutions that enable them to provide their patients with the best possible treatment. At the end of the day, it’s about putting a smile on someone’s face.”
Spotlight on smart technology
The Implantmed Plus II includes integrated Wi-Fi, remote updates, a newly developed scan function for implant detection, automatic documentation via ioDent®, and integration with implant planning software. These features are designed to support daily surgical practice.
“Despite the many new functions, it was important to us to keep operation straightforward. The intuitive handling makes the new Implantmed a reliable partner, even in demanding treatment situations,” explained Isabella Schmied, W&H product manager.
The new Piezomed module Plus II can now be connected and controlled via the Implantmed display, offering a matching piezo device for clinicians.
A guide for treatment processes
The Implantmed Plus II is part of W&H’s “Oral Surgery Compass,” which maps all the steps of a successful treatment. Products such as the Seethrough X-ray portfolio, Implantmed, Piezomed module, and Osstell Beacon are integrated to complement each other and contribute to patient care.
“Our products work hand in hand, are interconnected, and complement each other,” added Andreas Brandstätter.
Market launch in Nov 2025
The Implantmed Plus II and the Piezomed module Plus II will be available from end of Nov 2025 through local distributors.
