In September, the dental group discovered that its server had been infected with ransomware. Immediately, SEMOMS worked with its IT staff to restore its services. It’s unclear if any unauthorized people viewed or accessed patient information.
Patient data that may have been exposed included names and X-ray images. SEMOMS said that no financial information, medical records or Social Security numbers were affected.
