WESTON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Dental Association (WDA) and the WDA Foundation will offer free dental care through the Mission of Mercy event on July 25 and 26. The services will be available to children and adults with limited financial resources at D.C. Everest Middle School, located at 9302 Schofield Ave. in Weston.
The doors will open at 5:30 a.m. both days. About 450 patient visits are expected daily. Care will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointments are required.
All ages are welcome to attend. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Spanish and Hmong interpreters will be available to assist patients. A multilingual flyer and answers to common questions are posted online at WDA.org.
Patients do not need to bring photo ID, Social Security numbers, insurance details, or any other personal documents. However, people with certain medical conditions, such as very high blood pressure or severe disabilities, may not be eligible for treatment.
“Our volunteers look forward to helping children and adults who face barriers to dental care,” said Dr. Thomas Nockerts, president of the WDA Foundation and a retired general dentist from Green Bay. “We aim to relieve pain, restore smiles, and provide oral hygiene education.”
Up to 700 volunteers will take part in the event. They include dentists, dental hygienists, assistants, students from Marquette University School of Dentistry, and community members.
