A TikTok user named Taylor shared her frustration after her dentist requested that she no longer bring her children to her appointments.
Taylor, a stay-at-home mom, often brought her kids along to fit appointments into her schedule. However, she recently received a letter from the dental office asking her to make alternative childcare arrangements.
In the letter, the practice acknowledged Taylor’s challenges and appreciated her as a patient. It explained that recent visits with her children had created noise and activity that made it difficult for staff to provide care, and could also affect other patients who require a quiet environment.
The letter requested that future appointments be scheduled when the children could be supervised elsewhere or with another responsible adult present.
Taylor told viewers she was already feeling low about her parenting and found the letter discouraging. “It felt like a kick when I was already down,” she said. Though she did not consider the staff rude, she said the embarrassment prompted her decision to find a different dentist for herself and her children.
