More than half of dentists have offered dental assistants, hygienists pay raises: report

Five notes: 

  1. About 4 in 10 dentists reported they had recently or were currently recruiting dental assistants and dental hygienists as of June, with dental hygienists being the most challenging to recruit.
  2. Eight out of 10 dentists reported issuing pay raises for their staff in the past year. 
  3. The most common recent pay increases ranged between 4 percent and 6 percent.
  4. The most common benefits offered to employees include dental benefits, paid vacation, paid holidays and retirement savings.
  5. Fewer than half of dentists provide health insurance to their employees and 1 and 5 offer paid leave.
