Five notes:
- About 4 in 10 dentists reported they had recently or were currently recruiting dental assistants and dental hygienists as of June, with dental hygienists being the most challenging to recruit.
- Eight out of 10 dentists reported issuing pay raises for their staff in the past year.
- The most common recent pay increases ranged between 4 percent and 6 percent.
- The most common benefits offered to employees include dental benefits, paid vacation, paid holidays and retirement savings.
- Fewer than half of dentists provide health insurance to their employees and 1 and 5 offer paid leave.
