SINGAPORE, 8 August 2025 — Neo Smiles Dental Studio is marking its 10th anniversary this month, celebrating a decade of service that has seen it grow from a one-chair clinic in the heartlands to a multi-location provider of specialist orthodontic care across Singapore.
With branches now in Bedok, Serangoon, and Bishan, the group continues to serve students, working professionals, and families through extended hours and accessible, structured treatment plans.
Founded by Dr Neo Bijuan, Neo Smiles began as a solo practice with a mission to deliver affordable orthodontic care to local communities. As demand grew, the clinic expanded both its team and services to meet evolving patient needs.
Today, Neo Smiles operates as a specialist orthodontic chain, offering a comprehensive range of treatments. The team includes three orthodontists, an oral surgeon, and several general dentists. Services cover traditional metal and ceramic braces, Damon self-ligating systems, Invisalign and other aligners, as well as oral surgery, including wisdom tooth extraction under sedation. Routine dental care is also part of the clinic’s offerings.
The clinic has been recognised as an Invisalign Diamond Tier Practice, a distinction supported by advanced in-clinic technology, dedicated orthodontic staff, and the use of iTero Lumina 3D intraoral scanners. Each location is designed with patient comfort in mind, featuring amenities such as piped-in music, aromatherapy, and ceiling-mounted TVs to create a more calming environment.
“When we started Neo Smiles, our goal was to provide accessible specialist care without requiring patients to travel into the city,” said Dr Neo Bijuan, Clinical Director of Neo Smiles. “Ten years on, we remain committed to delivering structured, reliable care within the communities that need it most.”
Adapting Through Change
Neo Smiles’ journey over the past decade has included a fair share of challenges. Staffing disruptions, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, tested the clinic’s resilience. In 2023, an unexpected site closure forced the relocation of its Kovan branch. The team reopened in Serangoon Central, choosing a more central location to maintain convenience and continuity of care for patients.
As dental technology has advanced, Neo Smiles has integrated digital tools into its workflow. Intraoral scanners now replace traditional impressions, providing precise 3D digital models for treatment planning. The clinic also uses CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) imaging, which delivers detailed diagnostics with lower radiation exposure than standard CT scans.
A Community of Smiles
Neo Smiles’ photo wall, featuring Polaroids of patients who have completed their orthodontic journeys, has become a hallmark of the clinic. The display serves as both a record of successful treatments and a source of inspiration for current patients.
Families continue to form the backbone of the clinic’s clientele. Many parents return with their children for early orthodontic assessments, ongoing check-ups, and preventive care. Beyond braces, the clinic now offers additional services such as teeth whitening, stain removal, and black triangle treatment. For more complex cases, CBCT imaging and sedation options ensure safe and comfortable care across all treatment stages.
As Neo Smiles enters its second decade, the clinic remains focused on its original mission—making expert orthodontic care available to more people, closer to home.
