TULSA, Okla. — The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) served a search warrant Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal dentistry at a Tulsa apartment complex.
The investigation was a joint effort between OBN, the Oklahoma Dental Board, and Homeland Security Investigations.
Officers found a makeshift dental office inside an apartment located on East 61st Street.
“This was an outstanding cooperative investigation with OBN, our partners at the Oklahoma Dental Board, and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) to stop this individual from further endangering anyone else,” said OBN Director Donnie Anderson.
“For someone to perform medical procedures and administer drugs in this manner is an extreme and potentially life-threatening disregard for the health and safety of the vulnerable patients in their care.”
Carol Marcella Gutierrez Herrera and an adult male were taken into custody. They are being investigated for practicing dentistry and administering drugs illegally from the apartment.
