OrthoFX has launched its new website showcasing a full portfolio of products with AirFlex (previously branded as NiTime) as its newest polymer innovation. With the new selection of aligner offerings, orthodontists can differentiate their practice and promote patient satisfaction with a broad selection of aligner systems that deliver enhanced predictability, while also providing patients with treatment options that fit their lifestyle.
“There have not been advancements in polymer technology for decades within the clear aligner category, so we are consistently challenging ourselves to push the boundaries of orthodontic innovations that support doctors and patient needs,” said OrthoFX co-founder, Ren Menon. “Although clear aligner treatments have been around for over two decades, there is ample evidence that shows predictability and patient compliance continue to be a problem for providers. We have worked closely with orthodontists to address these issues while also delivering solutions that better meet the needs of patients’ habits and practices. Our new generation of clear aligners are delivering beautiful treatment outcomes and making it more effortless for patients to straighten their teeth.”
OrthoFX’s latest generation of aligners, as showcased on its new website, include the FXClear (previously Tetra) custom-made aligners, which deliver predictable results. Its stain-resistant material and smooth, scalloped edges allow for enhanced comfort and fit. Its advanced polymer technology exerts gentle, optimal pressure and requires 20 to 22 hours of wear time per day, similar to the wear time requirements of leading aligner brands.
On the other hand, FXBright is a translucent aligner that gives teeth a naturally whiter and straighter appearance, without the use of whitening gels, from the first day of treatment. FXBright also requires 20 to 22 hours of wear time per day.
AirFlex, previously branded as NiTime, is the first and only FDA-cleared aligner demonstrated to straighten teeth with at least nine to 12 hours of continuous daily wear time*. This reduces wear time by 50% when compared to other leading clear aligner brands. More importantly, AirFlex is designed to provide comfort, compliance, and predictability. Featuring HyperElastic technology, AirFlex utilises a multi-copolymer that improves aligner performance and delivers efficient orthodontic movements. By leveraging secondary transition, the aligner conforms to the outer surface of the dentition, ensuring an optimal adaptation and fit that prevents the aligner from unseating. The HyperElastic technology also accommodates up to four weeks of tooth movement, conservatively reducing the risk of relapse from non-wear and minimising the need for refinements.
“My number one priority is to provide the most efficient, predictable, and comfortable orthodontic treatment for my patients, regardless of the complexity of their cases. From my experience, patients are not wearing their aligners as required for 20 to 22 hours a day,” said Dr Neil Warshawsky, orthodontist, professor, and OrthoFX provider. “This is why AirFlex with 50% less wear time is a gamechanger to get the patient compliance and treatment outcomes as planned.”
