Pennsylvania dentist found drugs in assistant’s pocket during root canal, policy say

Dental assistant Cindy Kametler, 33, has been charged with drug possession.

During the procedure, the dentist asked Ms. Kametler for a syringe. When Ms. Kametler’s hands were full, the dentist allegedly reached into Ms. Kametler’s pocket to discover a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance.

The dentist took the bag and later contacted police. Lab tests confirmed that the bag contained a half gram of methamphetamine. Ms. Kametler’s hearing is scheduled for Dec. 17.
