Pennsylvania dentist hit with $11M verdict for delayed cancer diagnosis, withholding records

The dentist allegedly failed to properly investigate a tongue sore in the patient’s mouth that happened to be cancerous, leading to a delayed cancer diagnosis.

In addition, the patient alleged that the dentist intentionally withheld or destroyed dental records to undermine the delayed diagnosis claims.

Of the $11 million verdict, $8 million were for punitive damages, the report said.
