Approximately 115,000 Philadelphia residents lack health insurance, and many more face financial difficulties.
A national nonprofit organization is stepping in this weekend to provide free health care services to the community.
The Remote Area Medical Center (RAM) will host a two-day free clinic at Future School on Saturday and Sunday, August 16th and 17th, offering dental, vision, and general medical services.
No insurance, ID, or appointments are required for this event, which is on a first-come, first-served basis. The clinic, in partnership with DentMed Inc., will offer services such as dental cleanings, fillings, extractions, and X-rays, as well as eye exams, prescription eyeglasses, women’s health exams, and general medical checkups.
Organizers recommend that residents, especially those with dental needs, arrive early. Please note that the event may be adjusted due to inclement weather, volunteer shortages, or other unforeseen circumstances, and Sunday hours may be shortened.
